Both of my younger sisters convocated from the University of Alberta (U of A) in June. I was one proud big sister! Being the oldest, I went to university first and was at the U of A from 2003 - 2007, convocating from the Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy. I know the blood, sweat and tears that goes into getting an education like this and I have great respect for both of my "little" sisters! Watching them pursue their passions and study in areas they truly love is inspirational. Isn't that what we all should strive for; doing what we love and loving what we do, as the song goes? Having an education, no matter what type, is something that you appreciate as yours and nobody can ever take away from you. No matter what your life's circumstances, good or bad, your hard work earned you something you will carry with you for life. I was lucky enough to attend Anja's convocation ceremony and have posted some pictures (sorry about the quality of the first few; they were taken from the second balcony of the Jubilee Auditorium aka nosebleed section):
Both Erica and Anja are continuing on to get their Master's degrees. On a side note, the Occupational Therapy program at the U of A is now only offered as a Master's program so fortunately I suck through in 2007! I love you girls!
